My Favorite Holiday

There are many big holidays in America, such as Thanksgiving and Christmas. In China, we also have some important holidays. For me, I prefer Chinese traditional holiday, especially the spring festival.

Spring festival is an important holiday in China, and it is on the first day of the first lunar month. Before the Spring Festival, people would like to buy presents for relatives, such as meat, fruit, flowers drinks and somethings. Furthermore, when the Spring Festival is coming, children are always very happy because mothers will buy some pretty clothes and delicious snacks for their children. In addition, at the Spring Festival night twelve o’clock, people always eat dumplings to celebrate. Sometimes, people like putting a coin into a dumplings, if someone could get the coin when he is eating, he will be lucky the whole year. In brief, it is really a happy festival.

Unfortunately, next spring festival will be my second one in America because my class will begin when the spring festival comes. However, whether I am in China or not, I could still feel the happyness.

The Strangest Thing I Have Ever Eaten

Most of my friends said I am a timid girl, because I never watch any scary movie or eat any strangest food. If I have to talk about the most strange food I have ever eaten, I think it should be stinky tofu.


I know many people don't like it. When I was in high school, before I taste it, I also don't like it. I even don't understand why people cook this kind of food. Whereas there was a day, after we finished class, my few good friends all planed to ride bicycles to eat stinky tofu. At the begining, I don't want to go, but friends told me that the taste was much better than the smell. Therefore, I tried. I still remembered the first time I ate stinky tofu, it was not good, and I think it mainly because I had some prejudices against it. However, after several times, I love it more and more. After that, my friends and I went to eat stinky tofu every day after class was over. When we ate, we talked fun stories a lot, and sometimes I even couldn't have dinner which was cooked by mom when I got back home.

That was really a great time, and until now I still miss the experience at that period and the special taste of stinky tofu.

A Scary Experience I Had

When I first thought about m scary experience, I even didn't remember any thing. Thus, I read our teacher's topic, and it said:"Have you ever almost been in an accident?" Then I realized that it was really happened on me, and it was only one month ago.



That day, after I finished dinner with my friends, we said bye to each other, and we were ready to leave that plaza. My friend drove his car, and we went straight on the road. Suddenly there was a car which wanted to turn left. My friend stopped and let him went, and then we continue to go straight. Whereas we didn't realize that there were another car which also wanted to turn left, and the driver didn't see us, either. When my friend yelled "No", I felt there was a big crash happened, and there was so much smoke around inside the car.

We left that car as soon as possible. Then I suddenly thought of a joke in China. People like describing accident in English like this:"One car come one car go ,two car peng peng one car die." That was exactly the same situation with us, because my friend's car was totally destroyed.

We called 911, and then the police reported our situation. Until now, we still wait for the result. That is my first time getting into an accident, and I was really scared.

My Dream job

When I think about my dream job, I always feel sad. It is not only because it can't be true, but also because of some experiences in the past. I sang at public places and took part in some competitions since I was 10 years old. Now, I missed those days more and more!

Last Saturday we went to Disney, and there was a parade of performance coming by. As an audience, I admired those performers so much. No doubt that's the job I'm dreaming about. They did singing and dancing there, and people cheered for them. How wonderful the feeling was! In my opinion, if people really love something, they will love to do it even without any benefit. Maybe that's why there are a lot of people who work on their dream jobs with little salary. Whereas, I can't be that person because of my parents' expection. I should do some realistic work, so I study abroad and choose the MBA major for my future.

All in all, everyone has a dream job, but how many people could really brave to have their dream jobs about what they like to do?

The pricess sent a letter to the handsome soldier about which door has the lion and which door has the beautiful woman. The soldier knew that the pricess wanted to give the choice to him. After thinking the whole night, he made a decision. Next day, the soldier standed in front of those two doors, and faced all the people include his princess. The princess just standed there with tears, and she didn't know what she can do because she even can't help a little.

With smile, the soldier went into the door which has a big and strong lion. When he closed that door, he heard pricess cried and yelled "no!!!"

The room was bright little by little. He saw the lion, with the fierce and cruel eyes. The brave soldier didn't scare any more, and he said: "This is the only way I can marry my pricess! I must can go outside and prove I'm the only person who can give all the happness to her. So, come on, I will defeat you!"

The lion taped to the soldier, and the soldier take out a sharp dagger......

After the intense fight, the lion falled over finally!!!

The door opened again, the soldier came back again, with the blooded body. "He is back, oh my god, he is back!" People acclaimed ! King didn't know about he can say about this situation.

The soldier huged the pricess. They didn't say anything because their actions proved their love. It made the king feel no place to hide, so he just walked away.

From this time on, the handsome soldier and his princess got a happy life forever.

First Impressions

When I think about my first impression about California, I suddenly realized that I was already been here for more than half a year. To be honest, maybe because the time difference made me feel a little dizzy, I don't remember much about the first day when I came here, and I even didn't go to outside frequently at those days. However, the memories, when I came to our campus, are still fresh.

At that time, I just graduated from my university in China, and I really missed there. When I first see our campus, everything was so familiar. Whereas I doubted whether I can figure out the locations of all the classroom buildings. Although my friend told me after several days I could remember all of these things, I was still confused. In the next days , I followed the guide to walk arould campus, and I liked it more and more. Now, there are still some guides showing our campus to some students, and they go arould the library, the buildings, or the grassy lawn. When I see these, I often call to my remembrance.

I'm not a new student any more. This is my second semester. Now I have many good friends. Sometimes when we get together, we always like talking about the first time when we knew each other for fun. We all have a great time in our campus.

Who I am

I'm Vivi, and I'm a Chinese girl. This is my first time to write a blog on this website.

Firstly, I have to say, these days the weather is really hot, and even i didn't go to anywhere ,my body is still tanned.At this, it makes me think about my hometown. My hometown is not like this kind of hot. My mom told me the temperature now in my city Shenyang is turning colder and colder. Shenyang is the capital of Liaoning Province, and it's also a pretty and modern city. I love living there cause the people is nice and generous. Leaving my home such a long time is making me miss it more and more.

Now I'm here for getting my master's degree. That's a little hard for me cause the Toelf and GMT tests. When my parents asked me about these test, I even afraid to give any promise. I thought after i came to USA, the environment could help me a lot when I was in my country. But now it's proved i still need to study every single word by myself. So what I can say now is only trying my best.

When I have some free time, I alway let myself into the network world. My mom tells me stay away from the computer almost everyday, but I'm still doing it. I like listening pop musics, such as the "Love Story" , "you belong with me"and so on ,besides,they are popular now. I also like singing, that's my best hobby. I dreamed to become a singer when i was young ,but now I've already face to the reality.

All in all ,that' me .I'm happy, struggling, and trying to be independent girl.
